Overview

Nestled in the heart of Paris's 9th arrondissement, Les Fils à Maman Grands-Boulevards offers a captivating journey into nostalgic French comfort food with a contemporary twist. This charming French restaurant, located at 7 bis Rue Geoffroy-Marie, seamlessly blends retro ambiance with heartfelt culinary craftsmanship, making it an ideal spot for locals and tourists alike who crave authentic, hearty dishes in a lively, welcoming atmosphere.

The restaurant’s setting is reminiscent of the 1970s and 1980s, adorned with vintage posters, cassette tape walls, and playful nods to classic TV shows. This design sets a cozy yet vibrant tone, inviting guests to relax and enjoy a taste of memory-infused cuisine. The ambiance complements the menu’s soul, where revisited French classics are elevated but never lose their comforting essence.

Standout dishes like the Cordon Bleu Des Fistons showcase the kitchen’s skill in revitalizing beloved main courses, while the Pièce de Bœuf et Frites delivers a satisfying, robust experience with prime cuts and crispy, unconventional chickpea fries that have garnered praise. The daily rotating specials—ranging from rich Blanquette de volaille to the hearty Bœuf bourguignon—offer taste adventures deeply rooted in French culinary tradition.

The Café Gourmand and desserts such as the Tiramisu au Kinder and Pancakes Banane Nutella perfectly balance the savory lineup, providing a playful yet refined finish to meals. For breakfast or brunch lovers, options like Oeufs Benedict and the Panier Petit Dej bring variety and freshness that pair beautifully with the housemade iced teas and sparkling lemonades infused with elderflower and ginger.

Service at Les Fils à Maman is consistently described as warm and attentive, enhancing the overall dining experience. While the absence of English menus might initially seem a hurdle, the welcoming staff readily bridge this gap with helpful explanations and genuine hospitality. The space, though intimate, buzzes with good vibes, making it perfect for casual dates, friendly gatherings, or anyone eager to savor French classics with a contemporary spirit.

In sum, Les Fils à Maman Grands-Boulevards offers more than a meal—it’s a heartfelt celebration of French culinary heritage, wrapped in a quirky, nostalgic setting. Its delightful menu, inviting atmosphere, and sincere service come together to create a memorable escape into Paris’s rich food culture, appealing especially to those who appreciate great value, authentic flavors, and a touch of whimsy in their dining experience.

As soon as we had discovered it, we were in love! The interior is so unique, the staff very, very friendly and the food just wonderful! We went there 3 days in a row, only stopping because we will leave Paris tomorrow. If we come back, this will the place to eat out again. Merci beaucoup!!

Delicious food and friendly, accommodating staff. Ambiance is nice as well, with plenty of interesting things to look at. We shared a charcuterie/appetizer platter, with deep fried croquettes of cheese, pulled pork and more, along with some sliced salami, pickles and some amazing "fries" made out of chickpeas. For mains, we had the chicken cordon bleu and some kind of mushroom and cheese pastry. They dont have English menus, but the staff was great about explaining things. Give the French IPA a try as well!

The vibe here is like travelling back in time to the 70s/80s with decor (cassette tape wall, kid and adult TV series posters and vintage signage) appointed from a time past. The origin story of the restaurant is featured in a spiral bound menu that was provided in addition to the fold-out brunch menu. The formule at 30 euros is a steal. In general, the restaurant offers great value for money. The egg/ham croissant was a 3 for me because of the scrambled egg quality (reminded me of cafeteria powdered eggs) and croissant quality (tough texture). The service is a 3 because the order had to be reconfirmed a few minutes after our drinks were served AND one of our drinks was served “virgin” in error. The ambience is fun and the guests appeared to be very pleased. Note: the table seating is very cozy

We had the Cordon Bleu and for dessert the Croustillant (Apples cooked with candied sugar in a crispy millefeuille dough). Both were prepared to perfection. Amazing service. A hidden gem

This place was great! We're in Paris for a few days with 2 kids and it was just what we needed on our first night in Paris. Music was great, ambiance and decor were fun and made for great conversation with our kids. The cocktails were fantastic and Mario our waiter was fantastic with making sure our kids got their food just the way they liked it.

We booked for when it opened at 7pm so we’re first there and we sat on a lovely outside table but we checked out the amazing decor inside and there were beautiful tables to sit inside too. Service was friendly and not rushed. Drinks fab and the food was delicious. People were pouring in and it was soon full inside. The atmosphere was great. Would absolutely recommend!
